PRCHN Associate Director Erika Trapl, PhD, was a guest on WVIZ/Ideastream’s Ideas program on August 30 discussing how data from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) can be used to help policy makers shape programming to meet the needs of young people and what parents can do to stop their children from partaking in risky behavior. The 2017 Youth Risk Behavior Survey gives a glimpse into the fraught world our students are navigating. The study focuses on a wide-range of topics including diet and exercise, drug and substance use, sex, mental health and violence.
